Burton Clyde English was born on February 14, 1920. He was the son of Thomas Milligan English and Martha Maurine Winters English. 1st Lt. English served as a Co-Pilot during World War II on B-17F #42-30126 which was shot down by Swiss anti-aircraft. He was temporarily buried He was temporarily buried in what was then the American Cemetery in Münsingen, Switzerland. He is now buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Sac City, Sac County, Iowa, USA.
