George H. Case was born on February 16, 1918 in North Dakota. He attended East Moline grade and high schools and was employed as a molder at John Deere Spreader works at the time of his induction. He entered the service on August 25, 1942. SGT Case was an aiplane mechanical crew chief and had been in England for nearly two years, doing repair work and testing planes. Four soldiers, two Captains and two technical Sergeant (one was him) were killed when the plane in which they were being taken from Warrington, England, to Switzerland where they were to do repair work on US aircraft crashed at Dubendorf airport near Zurich, Switzerland. TSGT Case was temporarily buried in what was then the American Cemetery in Münsingen, Switzerland. His final resting place is in Moline Memorial Park, Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA.
