Daniel M. Jost was born on March 24, 1907 in Ohio. He was a son of Henry K. Jost and Anna (Kerner) Jost. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 31, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. Daniel M. Jost served as a Staff Sergeant in the 5th Airdrome Squadron, United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He died of non-battle injuries on February 11, 1944 in Northern Ireland. His remains were buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. SSGT Jost is buried now in the Gettysburg National Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA.
