James Grover “Jim” Pardy, Jr. was born on August 7, 1921 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of James Grover Pardy and Inez M. Sheehy Pardy. Jim entered the military service in South Dakota and served in the 109th Engineer Combat Battalion, 34th Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He died on September 13, 1942 in Ireland and was buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. PVT Pardy is buried now in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
