Travis Everett Royer was born on November 22, 1923 in Citra, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Everett Royer and Elsie L. Prince Royer. He served in the 2nd Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Royer died on May 17, 1944, at the age of 20, in Ireland, and was buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. He is buried now in the Citra Cemetery, Hughes County, Oklahoma, USA.
