Earl Laverne Sharpe was born on February 9, 1921. He was the son of Arthur H. Sharpe and Wilma J. Sharpe. He served in the 4th Fighter Squadron as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He died on August 11, 1942, at the age of 21, and was buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. 2LT Sharpe is buried now in the Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Grayson County, Texas, USA.
