Benjamin Harrison Salsman was born on July 23, 1915 in Passover, Missouri. He was the son of William T. Salsman and Mary Avis Woolsey Salsman. He served in the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Salsman died on January 24, 1945 and is now buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg. He was one of the 38 American soldiers killed during the fierce fighting at sub-zero temperatures to recapture the town of Hoscheid, Luxembourg.
