Alex C. Hoffman was born on November 16, 1917. He was the son of John Mathias Hoffman and Mary Clara Meyer Hoffman. He served in the 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Hoffman was Killed in Action on January 11, 1945, at the age of 27, during the liberation of Sonlez, Luxembourg. He is now buried in the Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Shepherd, Isabella County, Michigan, USA.
