Edward Johnson entered the military service in Alabama. He served in the 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 11, 1945, during the liberation of Sonlez, Luxembourg, and is now buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg.
