John Douglas "Jack" Lepird was born on November 5, 1921 in Noble County, Indiana. He was the son of Lester Robert Lepird and Irma E. Magnuson Lepird. He served in the 352nd Fighter Squadron, 353rd Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was killed on a training mission while based at Goxhill, England. 2LT Lepird is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
