Leo Aloysius Moore, Jr. was born in 1919 in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Leo A. and Josephine M. Snell Moore. He served in the 15th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron as a First Lieutenant during World War II. 1LT Moore was Killed in Action on August 3, 1944, when their unit infiltrated the surrounding forest of Mesnil in Miniac-Morvan, France. They were attacked in Val-Hervelin in Pleudihen, France and First Lieutenant Moore was killed at the front of his section. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
