Donald R. Kinney was born on February 10, 1924 in Raleigh, Iowa. He was the son of Joseph I. Kinney and Mabel B. Eslinger Kinney. He served in the 377th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was on the Blue Flight of the 377th FS when he was Killed in Action on November 8, 1944 in Germany while strafing their target. 2LT Kinney is now buried in the Newton Burial Park, Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri, USA.
