Merrill E. Holland was born on July 2, 1924. He was the son of Edward Holland and Genevieve Rose Fladeland Holland. He served in the 377th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. 2LT Holland was killed in a mid-air collision with 2LT Robert V. Mendenhall on June 18, 1945. 2LT Holland is now buried in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA.
