Willard R. Adams was born on March 13, 1916, in Vergennes, Vermont. He resided in Addison County, Vermont prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 18, 1942 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.

Willard served in the 552nd Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle and is now buried in the Prospect Cemetery, Vergennes, Addison County, Vermont, USA.
