Frank Marszalek was born in 1911 in Rhode Island. He resided in Bristol County, Rhode Island prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on July 15, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a meatcutter and also as Single, without dependents.

Frank served as a Staff Sergeant on B-26B #41-31848, 553rd Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-26, having been damaged on a bombing mission, crashed into the English Channel.

SSgt Marszalek is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
