Glenn Frank Zimmerman was born on May 4, 1918 in Middleton, Idaho. He resided in Ada County, Idaho prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 11, 1942 at Gowan Field, Boise, Idaho. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the production of beverages and also as Single, without dependents.

Glenn served as a First Lieutenant and Pilot on B-26B #41-31597, 553rd Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-26B was shot down by German Fw 190 fighters and crashed just off the coast in the North Sea.

1Lt Zimmerman is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
