Darius Belloa was a 29-year-old seaman from Providence who served aboard the merchant ship Frolic. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Belloa died on January 25, 1815, with apoplexy recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
