Horace Bisley was an 18-year-old seaman from Rock Hill who served aboard the merchant ship Star. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Bisley died on April 11, 1813, with pneumonia recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
