Henry Burbidge was a 26-year-old seaman from Washington who served aboard the merchant ship Greyhound. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Burbidgge died on December 25, 1814, with peripneumonia recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
