Joseph Bayer, a native of London, England, was the son of Frank and Marie Bayer, of 511 West, 172nd St., New York, U.S.A. Joseph served as a Private in the 1st/6th Bn. of the Durham Light Infantry, British Army during World War I. He died on May 4, 1918, and is now buried in the Cologne Southern Cemetery, Cologne, Stadtkreis Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
