Stanley Moore Anderson entered the military service in Indiana. He served in the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group as a Captain during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 16, 1944, when his plane was shot down by Fw190 over the North Sea off the coast between Ostend and Blankenberge, Belgium aboard P-47 41-6407. Cpt Anderson's body was never recovered. His name is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
