Carmeno J. Delnero was born in 1922 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Nicholas S. Delnero and Adeline Delnero.
Carmeno served in the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. On November 21, 1944, shortly after his section strafed two locomotives, he called out and engaged an ME-109, in a driving snow/rainstorm. His plane was shot down.
2Lt Delnero is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
