Cecil Edward Garbey was born on October 18, 1920, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The pilot of the P-51B-7-NA, "Virginia", his section caught strafing a train by fifteen Messerschmitt Bf-109's and Focke-Wulf Fw-190's. He was shot down during the ensuing action at approximately 2030h. 2Lt Garbey is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
