                            Glenn Arthur Herter was born on May 4, 1923, in California. He served in the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was piloting the P-51B-7-NA #43-6740 VF-R at the time of his death.
Killed in Action on March 3, 1944, his squadron was attacked by 60+ German fighters. Herter was last seen in a 70° dive chasing an FW-190 with 8-10 enemy aircraft on his tail.
1Lt Herter is now buried in the Heavenly Rest Catholic Cemetery, Windsor, Essex County, Ontario, Canada.
