                            Paul Samuel Iden was born on March 21, 1917, in Columbiana County, Ohio. He was the son of Samuel John Iden and Neata M. Roudabush Iden.
Paul served in the 335th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. Piloting the P-51B-7-NA #43-6959 WD-Z on September 11, 1944, his section turned into a gaggle of 50+ German aircraft. He was not seen or heard from again. He was presumed to have been shot down in the engagement. His aircraft crashed 1.5 miles west of Wolfsbehringen, Germany.
