John Paul McNabb was born on June 12, 1922, in Missouri. He was the son of John Paul and Mary Serelda Hall McNabb.
F/O McNabb served in the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, during World War II. He was killed in a flight accident on December 2, 1943, at Kenton, England, in P-47 #42-7874 'The Deacon.' His aircraft caught fire while on a test flight. Witnesses reported seeing the Thunderbolt dive into the ground at an angle of 30°-40° and disintegrate on impact.
F/O McNabb is now buried in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri, USA
