Homer Carl Smith was born on August 8, 1921, in Tennessee. He served in the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.
2Lt Smith was killed in a flight accident while on a local OTU flight aboard P-51 Mustang #42-103603. He crashed northwest of Cambridge near Warrier’s Farm in Somersham, England, and was killed instantly. He is now buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA.
