Alvin O. Wallace was born in 1920, in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Lew Wallace and Leta Marie Dwight Wallace.

He served in the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was killed in a flight accident on February 4, 1945, when his P-51 #44-15531 spun in on a local flight, crashing 4 miles east of Debden, England. He is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
