Myron Phillip Zecher was born on 16 August 1914 in Croghan, Lewis County, New York. He was the son of William Frederick Zecher and Nellie Ella Miller Zecher.
Myron served in the 45th Service Squadron as a Technical Sergeant and Parachute Shop Chief during World War II. On May 25, 1944, he was transferred to the 280th Station Hospital in Newport, Essex for ‘treatment and observation’ after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle. He died the next day caused by a cerebral concussion.
TSgt Zecher is now buried in the Union Cemetery, Naumburg, Lewis County, New York, USA. His name is listed on the Anglo-American Memorial in Saffron Walden in England, but his surname is spelled 'Zecker.'
