Archibald Fogerty was a 38-year-old seaman from Lincoln who served aboard the merchant ship Horatio. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Fogerty died on March 18, 1815, with variola recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
