Robert H. "Robby" Folliard was born in 1918 in Streator, Illinois. He was the son of Henry Folliard and Bessie Carmichael Folliard.

Robert served in the 62nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 15, 1944, and is now buried in the Saint Marys Cemetery, Streator, LaSalle County, Illinois, USA. He was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
