Laudies I. Nelson, Jr. was born on May 3, 1919. He was the son of Laudies I. and
Nell McNeill Nelson. He served in the 702nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, as a Corporal during World War II. He died on September 19, 1944, at the age of 25, and is now buried in the Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, USA. Cpl Nelson was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
