Harry Andrew Nock was born on August 26, 1919, in Allen County, Ohio. He was the son of Andrew P Nock and Callie Beatrice Morehead Nock.
Harry served in the 513th Fighter Squadron, 406th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of the P-47 D-20-RE #42-76416 during World War II. On July 4, 1944, he took off from Station 417 airfield in Ashford, England, on an armed reconnaissance mission to Avranches, France. He was Killed in Action when his aircraft was shot down in aerial combat by over 30 Fw190. His airplane crashed between Coutances and Vire around 14:00. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
