Paris Duane Bray was born on August 24, 1920. He attended Hartwell High School and received his B. S. degree in agriculture at the University of Georgia in 1942. Before entering the Air Corps, he taught vocational agriculture at Statham, Ga. He entered the Air Corps in March 1943, receiving his wings at Ellington Field, Texas, on January 7, 1944.

A pilot on a C-47 transport plane, 2Lt Bray, had been in England for only 18 days. He was killed in the collision of Douglas C-47A-10-DK Skytrain 42-108873 and C-47A 43-15341 on July 8, 1944, during mass paratroop exercise and crashed near Tinwell, England. A total of 8 crew and 26 paratroopers in both aircraft died. He is now buried in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hart County, Georgia, USA.
