John Ralph Love was born on April 17, 1922. He was the son of Burgess Cook Love and Virginia Elizabeth McCall Love. He served in the 633rd Quartermaster Laundry Company during World War II. S/Sgt Love was killed on December 1, 1944, in the bombardment on the coal mine terrain Julia, during the liberation of Kerkrade-Eygelshoven, The Netherlands. He was killed together with 16 soldiers and one civilian. He is now buried in the Paw Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, USA.
