Robert K. Jones was born on July 29, 1923, in Clinton, Indiana. He was the son of Robert Jones and Martha Madeline Dahlen Jones. He served in the 633rd Quartermaster Laundry Company during World War II. Sgt Jones was killed in the bombing on coal mine terrain Julia during the liberation of Kerkrade-Eygelshoven, The Netherlands. He was killed together with 16 soldiers and one civilian. Sgt Jones is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
