Lester S. Partin was born on January 21, 1922, in Toombs County, Georgia. He was the son of Bud Grady Partin and Sally NeeSmith Partin. Lester served in the 633rd Quartermaster Laundry Company during World War II. He was killed on December 1, 1944, in the bombardment on the coal mine terrain Julia, during the liberation of Kerkrade-Eygelshoven, The Netherlands. He was killed together with 16 soldiers and one civilian. Pvt Partin is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
