Arthur G. Williams was born on July 24, 1921, in Macon County, Illinois. He was the son of Earnest G. Williams and Pearl Irene White Williams. Arthur served in the 633rd Quartermaster Laundry Company during World War II. He was killed on December 1, 1944, in the bombardment on the coal mine terrain Julia, during the liberation of Kerkrade-Eygelshoven, The Netherlands. He was killed together with 16 soldiers and one civilian. T/5 Williams is now buried in the Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, Macon County, Illinois, USA.
