James Henry was an 18-year-old seaman from New York who served aboard the merchant ship Argus. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Henry died on July 3, 1814, with “killed” recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
