Comments:
Thomas Edward Fulbright was born on January 30, 1923, in Beaumont, Texas. He was the son of Thomas B. Fulbright and Pearl Lagrone.
Edward served in the 853rd Bomber Squadron, 491st Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Gunner on the B-24 #42-95191 during World War II. On June 20, 1944, his airplane took a direct hit from an 88mm shell which blew away most of the nose section, on a mission to Germany. Unfortunately, S/Sgt Thomas E Fulbright and S/Sgt Bernard E Peak (Gunners) both elected to bale out before the forced landing, delayed opening their parachutes, and were killed instantly when they fell onto the sands.
SSgt Fulbright is now buried in the Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, USA.
