Robert Lewis Zeller, aged 22, was born on October 29, 1921, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was the son of Donald Lewis Zeller and Mary Luella McGinley Zeller.
Robert served in the 705th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of the B24 42-51116 'Nature's Nymph' in World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944, when the aircraft he was aboard crashed into Rumburgh, England. He is now buried in the Winchester National Cemetery, Winchester, Winchester City, Virginia, USA, in the same grave with three members of his crew. His name is commemorated on a plaque located at the St. Michael's Church in Rumburgh, England, but his surname is spelled Zeeler, and ranked as a Second Lieutenant.
