William H. Lowery was born in 1920. He entered military service in Tennessee. He served in the 328th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator of the B24H #41-28590 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 29, 1944, when his airplane collided with the B24J #42-110033 and crashed into Henham, England, while leaving for a raid over Germany. He is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. His name is commemorated on a plaque located in Henham Park, England, but his surname is spelled 'Lowry.'
