Carl Jackson Mead was born on September 20, 1917. He served in the 328th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator of the B24H #41-28590 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 29, 1944, when his airplane collided with the B24J #42-110033 and crashed into Henham, England, while leaving for a raid over Germany. He is now buried in the Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala, Licking County, Ohio, USA.
