William E. Bloom was born on August 4, 1923. He served in the 328th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Right Waist Gunner of the B24H #41-28590 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 29, 1944, when his airplane collided with the B24H #42-110033 over Henham, England, while leaving for a raid over Germany. He is now buried in the Winamac Cemetery, Winamac, Pulaski County, Indiana, USA. His name is commemorated on a plaque located in Henham Park, England, but his middle initial is inscribed as R.
