Earl Encel Norris, Jr. was born on December 15, 1918, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the son of Earl Cancel and Alma Bruner Norris.

Earl served in the 330th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator of the B24J #42-110033 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 29, 1944, when his airplane collided with the B24H #41-28590 and crashed into Henham, England while leaving for a raid over Germany. He is now buried in the Columbia Cemetery, Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado, USA.
