William Knabbs was a 22-year-old seaman from Baltimore who served aboard the merchant ship President. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Knabb died on February 26, 1815, with peripneumonia recorded as his cause of death.
