Joseph Lackey was a 30-year-old seaman from Massachusetts who served aboard the merchant ship Enterprise. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Luckie died on February 4, 1815, with phthisis recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
