Thomas D. Lippart was a 49-year-old prize master from Pennsylvania who served aboard the merchant ship Paul Jones. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Lippart died on March 9, 1815, with apoplexy recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
