Robert V. Lloyd was born on March 19, 1920, in Lynn, Massachusetts. He served in the Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and was a pilot of the P-38J 42-68182 at the time of his death. He was Killed in Action on March 4, 1944, when his left engine caught fire and Lt. Lloyd crashed approximately 6-10 miles off the Dutch coast in the English Channel. His body was never found. His name is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
