Edward Miller was a 26-year-old seaman from New Jersey who served aboard the merchant ship Mammoth. During the War of 1812, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Dartmoor Prison in Princetown, England. Miller died on February 23, 1815, with phthisis recorded as his cause of death. He was buried at the American Prisoner of War Cemetery in Dartmoor Forest, Devon, England.
